The most beautiful place to Sail in Scotland?

4 boats and 13 guys made a final trip of the 2015 season up the loch to Ardlui on Saturday October 31st. A light south westerly, although patchy, provided for a pleasant sail under spinnaker up the loch with all boats arriving in time to watch the World Cup Rugby Final, well done New Zealand! Halloween parties, and our own stormtrooper, provided the evening entertainment.

Sunday morning dawned still and misty. As the sun started to burn through the views were spectacular. Perhaps the most beautiful place in Scotland to sail; even when there is no wind it’s picture perfect. Gerry McNamee, from the Achilles ‘Balge’, sent his drone up and captured some stunning footage of the loch and the boats leaving Ardlui. Watch on YouTube here – Into the Mist

The lack of wind meant a motor back to the club, but also made for perfect conditions for getting the boats out the water. A great end to a great season…roll on 2016!
