Looking for a new club? Looking for a first club?
We are always keen to welcome new members into Loch Lomond Sailing Club.
Whether you are an experienced racer or a complete or relative beginner
will tell you how you can enjoy the sport of sailing with Loch Lomond SC.
The club was formed in 1873 when a group
of enthusiasts for the newly popular sailing canoes built a club house at Rosneath on the Clyde. In the early days cruises and exploration were the main activities, and members sailed their tiny craft as far as the outer Hebrides.
A popular adventure was the “three lochs cruise” taking in the Gareloch, Loch Long and Loch Lomond with a portage from Arrochar to Tarbert. In 1878, the club-house was moved to a location at the southern extremity of Loch Lomond,
and in 1933 a new building was constructed on our present site.
