In 2012 in addition to the General Handicap series, LLSC is running another 4 series for both dinghies and keelboats. The format of the 2012 series will replace the format of previous years. There are no major changes, simply updates to the previous system in the continuous search for better quality racing for all.
General Handicap will remain as is, taking up the first and last two weekends of the season.
There will then be 2 new Series in the first half of the racing calendar and two in the second. It is anticipated that the mid-summer break will re-kindle enthusiasm for many to continue to race into the autumn.

For Keelboats and Achilles, the Saturday and Sunday Series will be courses round both islands and marks, no longer separate points and islands racing but a combination of both.
For Dinghies and Flying Fifteens, there will be a combination of Islands and Points days for each series.

In each series the number of races to count will be the total number of races plus one, divided by two; the number of races to count for Fleet Championships will be 40% of the races sailed (each rounded up to the next whole number).
For all fleets, the General Handicap series will not count towards the Fleet Championship. General Handicap races for Dinghies and Flying Fifteens will be Average Lap Racing. For Dinghy and Flying Fifteens, Points racing will be three races on a Saturday and two on a Sunday.
