Our dinghies and Sportsboats race under the PY handicap system and are split into 4 fleets, Fast (PY< 955), Medium (956<PY<1200), Slow (PY>1201) and the Flying Fifteens. The K6 and VXOne sportsboats race with the Fast Handicap fleet.
The Flying Fifteen fleet is particularly well supported each week and consists of a variety of designs with sail numbers ranging from the 4000’s right through to some older boats, but all compete on the same handicap.
All of Loch Lomond SC’s Fifteens are “dry sailed” and we have a small tractor to help with their recovery.
Outside of the normal racing season of April to October the Fast Handicap fleet usually run their own Frostbite Series for the hardier sailors.
For those that wish to learn or improve the club runs regular training sessions, see the training page for more details.
