Then select “RESULTS FOR THE 2013 RACING SEASON”

Please check your results as soon as possible. If there are any results that you wish to query, or if you have done duties (labelled OOD) or average points for travelling to sailing events elsewhere (labelled AVP), and these have not been credited to you, then contact bobsparkes@fsmail.net with details of your query (or see him at the Club).

2012 Dinghy Weekend

Everyone involved at this year’s dinghy weekend enjoyed some excellent sailing over both Saturday and Sunday. Fresh and generally steady south westerlies allowed quick turn-arounds between races and kept everyone active.

Paddy ran an excellent bar with real ales while Irvin provided the bbq on Saturday evening.

There was excellent catering on both days plus bacon and egg rolls in the morning – superb!

Three fleets took to the water -

Asymmetrics/Fast Handicap:

1st 49er Matthew and James Lyons Ullswater SC
2nd Musto Skiff Dylan Noble Ullswater SC
3rd AC Peter McLaren LLSC

Medium Handicap:

1st Wayfarer Glen Carrick/Peter Edmond LLSC
2nd 420 Andrew Crocket/Duncan Smith LLSC/CCC
3rd Wayfarer Bob and Margaret Sparkes LLSC

Laser 2000’s:

1st Iain & Sarah Yardley Leigh and Lowton SC
2nd George Thomson/Douglas Brand West Lothian SC
3rd Mike and Caroline Heath Helensburgh SC

Glen and Peter also won the Wayfarer Scottish Championship.

420 Nationals 2012

Royal Torbay Yacht Club – 18-24 Aug

The 420 Nationals were held in Torbay at Torquay Yacht Club. Andrew Crocket (LLSC) and Duncan Smith (CCC) teamed together for their first Nationals, finishing in a respectable 38th position after an excellent week’s racing in mixed conditions.

The Oppie Nationals were well-attended by Loch Lomond members. Conditions were pretty challenging with 3 meters waves and wind speeds above 30 knots. As racing was abandoned on two days the conditions limited the overall number of races in the final series.

The venue was well-attended and Loch Lomond set up camp at the sailing club in a variety of motorhomes/caravan.

The event is attended internationally with teams travelling from all parts of the globe.

There were ten junior members from Loch Lomond racing, Rory Harper shining in the Junior Gold Fleet, finishing in 25th.
